Chinese New Year - Take 2

Yesterday was our second Chinese New Year Celebration. This time, we attended an event with our local FCC (Families with Children from China) group. We are lucky enough to have a Chinatown in our general area, so the party was held in a very nice Chinese restaurant down there. It was a nice big room with plenty of room & a dance floor. We had a DJ, crafts for the kids, a photographer, etc. It was a great day. 38 families, 124 people - it was great to chat with parents like us and watch all the kids enjoy each other. The older kids were just wonderful with the little ones, and of course the little ones adore the "big kids".

My favorite picture this time around. Ryan found himself a the cutest little girl friend, Sylvie. The two were so cute together, holding hands & chumming around together. Don't you just love this picture? Like a miniature bride & groom or something.

My favorite part of the event. We did our own little Dragon Parade with the kids. The bigger girls lead the kids through the restaurant with this dragon decoration, to the sound of those traditional drums (thanks to the DJ). And at the end of the the "parade"....Our own version of "firecrackers"!! Otherwise known as bubble wrap - all over the dance floor. It is amazing how loud that can actually be. Here is Elli having a good time making some noise.And Tori & Ryan made their fair share of noise as well. It was great.Can't wait for next year! Have a wonderful Year of the Tiger, everyone!
