Bah Humbug!

I feel like the Scrooge of Halloween, but I'm just grumpy. A nasty pestilence has descended upon our house and put a major damper on our Halloween festivities. The 104 degree fever, cough, chills, aches, etc. etc., started with Tori on Wed, then with Elli on Thursday. And this bug is nasty! My tough girls are rarely down with an illness for more than 24 hours and don't always pass it to each other - not this thing, whatever it is, it is running rampant through the house. The good news is the girls are doing much better - looks like Elli will go back to school tomorrow, but Tori is still struggling - not sure if she'll be ready or not.

Yesterday, yes, Halloween, dear hubby & Ryan come down with it. Poor pumpkins. Ryan actually sat still on Daddy's lap for over an hour today - he definitely is not feeling well if he sat still for that long. DH is actually considering not going to work tomorrow - he must feel like death warmed over to even entertain that thought... Grump, grump, grump. I should be very grateful that I have not caught this yucky bug. I am believe me, but I'm still grumpy.

With all of this going on, we missed Ryan's party at school, and the girls' party & parade at school. Our trick or treating last night was greatly curtailed. We did make it to a party at our church last Sunday, but I forgot my camera, humph! So I got ONE, yes ONE picture from Halloween this year! How am I going to make a two page spread with that??? (only a scrapbooker would understand that comment).

Here's my pic, thank goodness it is a good one! We did manage to carve/paint the girls' pumpkins, so pics of them are below.

Ryan the pumpkin, Tori the zebra & Elli as Princess Aurora (again!)

Elli with her Kitty Cat pumpkin.
Tori with her elephant - she loves Dumbo & elephants, so when we saw this gourd (or whatever it is) at the pumpkin patch, we decided to get it and try our hand at painting. Not too bad for a first try - the eyes ran a little bit in the rain last night.
